Just like that, it's over.
I'm in shock, to be honest. I'm not sure what to make of the loss to LSU. My first reaction is sadness for the team. They are a great bunch of kids. You always want to see them happy. To see them crying is a shame.
They will be back, I am sure.

It was imminently clear last night during the UConn-LSU game that someone (thank goodness) had dressed Geno down about shoving Chris Daley during the NC State game. It was an inexcusable blunder by a petulant poor sport who deserves to be censored.
Did you notice that Geno not only did not yell and gesticulate in his usual manner during the LSU game, he didn't even really coach. He called few timeouts to settle his team down and barely made comments from the sideline.
It was evident that he decided to use this game as an example to the powers-that-be who dared tell him how he should act.
It would not be surprising if he uses this to his advantage saying privately that he could not win the game because he could not coach it in the manner to which he is accustomed.
There are lots of big coaching jobs out there in the women's game today. Could Geno (the-let's-keep-the-starters-in-when-we're-30-points-ahead and the man-who-would-not-be-censored) be on his way?
The ride was great, and, in light of preseason forecasts, both surprising and enjoyable.
The ending was a bit sudden, a little harsh and somewhat sad for the young women in the program, but there's next season and hope springs eternal.
Lady Huskies, thanks for a wonderful 2006-2007 B'ball season.
